A Modest Proposal...

Had an early morning talk w/ a friend & he had an interesting idea. All the money that all the "fat-cats" have & are "investing for us" - & them - is OUR money. How about simply taking all the money out of our IRA's, 401's, Mutual Funds, any & all of the retirement money & simply take it? Simply take physical possession. It is ours, correct? Simply deprive "them" of having our money to play w/. That would be interesting, no?

Guest Commentary:

"Can President Barack Obama and Congress enact legislation that orders Americans to buy broccoli? If so, where did they get that authority? What provision in the Constitution empowers the federal government to order an individual to buy a product he does not want? This is not a question about nutrition. It is not a question about whether broccoli is good for you or about the relative merits of broccoli versus other foods. It is a question about the constitutional limits on the power of the federal government. It is a question about freedom. Can President Obama and Congress enact legislation that orders Americans to buy health insurance? They might as well order Americans to buy broccoli. They have no legitimate authority to do either. Yet neither Obama nor the current leadership in Congress seems to care about the constitutional limits on their power. They are now attempting to exert authority over the lives of Americans in a way no president and Congress has done before. ... All versions of the health care bill under consideration in Congress would order Americans to buy health insurance. If any of these bills is enacted, the first thing it would accomplish is the amputation of a vital part of our Constitution, and the death of another measure of our liberty."

Gimme'a freakin' break!

Oct. 13 - the day you get doubly screwed...

Today the congress (Senate Finance Committee) decides if they are to pass an insurance bill (2-3 wks for a full Senate hearing) at about $830B - of your money mind you - & it requires you to purchase health insurance...if you can't afford it you will be fined. It is almost too crazy to think about - which is exactly what "They" are counting on.
How much more can we take?
Really.
I mean WTF?

He won what?!!!

...this is, again, an eMail & response:

WELCOME BACK TO THE MAD TEA PARTY.
FUCKING INSANE.

ABSOLUTELY FUCKING ABSURD, INSANE, DISGUSTING
AND PUKE WORTHY.

BOW DOWN TO THE GOLDEN CALF!!!!!!!!!!!!

BOW DOWN OR DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*** to me, this is far from funny - tho it most certainly is in a "black" - pun intended - way. To the average dumb-fuck-believer in the street it simply solidifies what they've been saying all along: he is the "savior". That may have far reaching effects. Very. Think on it.

On a more pragmatic level, the "Prize" nominations end on Feb. 1 of the year. So that means in his 9 or 10 daze in office, his actions garnered him one of the most prestigious honors on the planet? Two things come from that observation: 1) the Nobel Prize has, like everything else in today's world, become worthless & 2) WTF? It is simply too blatant. Much "too." Think on it. Too.

ps what happened to "...more is better..." thingy? What could be more infuriating that this fucking affront to all those who have gone before?...& all rational peoples thinking? That "...more is better..." is, like everything else, a joke & I for one ain't laughing.

pss it is interesting that the nominees must be in x February 1 of that year. Does that mean "He" did everything necessary for his "Prize" from Jan. 20 to Feb. 1? Shit, he hadn't even unpacked!!!

...& somehow this takes you x surprise?

Despite plaudits by Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood as "the one stimulus program that seems to be working better than just about any other program," Cash for Clunkers has turned out to be one big flunker. As The Wall Street Journal reports, not only did this bureaucratic brainchild drive a 25 percent drop in new car sales for U.S. automakers in September as compared with last year, but the program's grand vision of advancing environmental salvation translated into a mere 0.2 percent reduction in annual oil consumption (less than one day's worth), and that's a best-case scenario.

To top it off, according to the University of Delaware's Burton Abrams and George Parson, all factors considered, the program imposed a net cost of about $2,000 per vehicle. In short, government made the country $1.4 billion poorer and spent nearly $3 billion to do so. And that's Washington's definition of a "working" program.

USD v. Euro?

...as I've been predicting all along, the world is poised to make the Euro the PetroEuro...if that happens,w/ all our debt, our country is poised to "tank". No? ...can't happen here? We shall see. We shall see.

Europe

Today I am still in Europe. It is an interesting mind-set. It is easy to forget that one is w/o power...at the mercy of a faceless capricious government. It is the mind-set that our present gov't is attempting to foster. We must never let that happen, but I fear our children shall be so indoctrinated x the time they take command that they'll give it up w/o a thought...very disconcerting. Being powerless is very disconcerting - & too few even realize it. I'm sure some smooth talker & a little sophistry can make that sound ignorant, but the truth remains that "...all power ultimately comes from the barrel of a gun."
No?
...ask your gov't.
