excerpts of my letter to VA . . .

...sent a few weeks ago:

I have tried to explain myself in previous communication to no avail, so now I’ll simply save this to my computer & use it as “boilerplate”.

In the late ‘60s the Government made a contract w/ me - & all active service personal at the time – to cover, without charge & for our lifetimes, all dental, optical & medical (operative phrase: without charge & for our lifetimes). All that was required was we would go over to southeast Asia & do their dirty work. We held up our end of the bargain, they didn’t. They unilaterally broke the contract w/ us all. Big surprise.

Since that time “they” have dropped our dental & optical. Simply dropped it. Then “they” instituted “co-pay” to everyone but those who were injured in combat (read: Purple Heart recipient). Now it seems “they” continue, thru their exulted, inept & disconnected position on Capitol Hill  & their proven incompetence, to cut even these benefits GAURANTEED by the government thru contract.

So please, allow me to be as clear as I possibly can. I have two (2) Purple Hearts. I do not have any medical insurance as I can barely make my bills. If you choose to continue billing me, you shall continue to get this same letter.

I shall NOT pay you one dime. Ever. If you want to deny me care, I should not be the least surprised.
